Iran 1st vice-president to depart for Iraq to join Arbaeen procession

TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – The First Vice President Es’hagh Jahangiri will depart for Iraqi holy city of Najaf Tue. to attend the Arbaeen procession along with Iranian pilgrims.

According to the official website of Iranian First Vice-Presidency, Jahangiri will travel to Iraq on a one-day visit to join pilgrims who are mourning the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hossain on Ashura day, which is called Arbaeen among Muslims. 

According to the report, the Iranian first vice-president will leave Najaf for another holy Iraqi city of Karbala oin Arbaeen day and will visit the Iranian pilgrims there.

The one-day visit has taken place over the past years with the aim of pilgrimage, following up on the situation of Arbaeen pilgrims in Iraq, as well as expressing appreciation to Iraqi authorities on behalf of the Iranian government for hosting the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
